Oh yea RL update

I will soon be in the middle of a full swing move of residence. And the laptop I ordered 2 weeks ago will be ariving in the next 3~5 days. Now I can blog and look up data while I play and won't have to limit my window size to 1280x1024 I can go to max resolution and graphics on my 21" widescreen on my desktop.

And just to say thank you, Big Red Kitty for linking to me on his blog. If you have never read his blog go look at my links and check it out. You will not be dissapointed. Even if you are not a hunter.

Once I get my laptop and everything set up at my new residence I will post a pic of what it all looks like set up.

Backtracking

Occasionally as you grind, quest, pug your way through the levels you find you need to backtrack to complete things that you missed while you were going through. From the hunter prespective this is time consuming. Putting pets in the stable running around learning skills that you didn't get the first time through. I spent most all of last night doing this. I call it one the necessary evils of the class. I know I am still not done, theres many places I have yet to go to fill out all my pet abilities that I am able to get at 30. I know it sounds odd but I want them all. That way any pet I decide to pick up in the future will have all the skills available to him to learn. Also you have to look at your factioning. This will mean completing low level intro quests from other starting zones. Being s Troll I mitigate some of that by being able to faction Ogerimar and Darkspear at the same time. Ratchet comes with the barrens and Straglethorn Vale quests. Unfortunatly this makes it difficult to do all the quests necessary to level Undercity and Silvermoon factions. I will be going back and doing those a few at a time. Right now I am loaded up with Hillsbrad quests and will get all of them done first. Then I will move on to Stranglethorn and Barrens quests.

Yes I know this will take longer but I would rather get them out of the way now while I am still lower in level than do them later when I am trying to get things done in Outland. I am going to try and complete all the quests as I level. I do know that this is going to be almost impossible at some points due to no one working some instances though. Those I will decide as I go through as to if I keep them or not. Doing this does many things. Keeps me busy for one. Allows me to connect all my flight paths. Explore every zone I am able to and get the maps opened up. I have most of the Azuremyst and Bloodmyst Isle's. As many of you know your faction can do many things for you. Reducing costs in a city to being able to ride different mounts. Anyways back to the pets.

After running all over the place I have got me a new PvP pet. Enraged Ravager from Bloodmyst. Now all I need to do is level him up and train him as the points come available. I am also thinking of replacing my current Lion with the Ghost from the top of Darkshore's Ruins of Mathystra by opening the cat figurines found on the ground. I know many of the skills are not able to be learned till higher levels like Dash 32. But that will not stop me from making sure that any level pet I have will be able to use a skill I have for it. Also while all this is going on I am making sure I keep up with my weapon skills. I think the only skills I have completly put off so far is Crossbow's, Thrown, and to a lesser extent Cooking and Fishing. I am working on fishing but its not what I am focused on at this time.

Plans for today.

Hopefully when I get home and have the time (Starting moving to new place today). I am going to run up to Darkshore to the temple at the far north to get me a ghost kitty. I am also going to be moving around alot with help of Petopia to get Dash, Bite 4, Claw 4, and all the other things I have been neglecting. The part of being a hunter that everyone loves to become annoyed with. Right now my pet is the white lion from the Barrens. I figure get me a few new pet abilities replace my boar with a ravager. Yes that means getting through to the alliance cities. But I think I should be able to pull it off. Just need all the abilities before I start doing that.

Hello Hillsbrad Foothills

Finally, I completed the last of the quests in Thousand Needles for the most part. I know I will return here and clear all the raceway quests. Before I said adiu to the zone I ran down to Gadgetzan and got the flight path. Unfortunatly while I was down there some high level mage thought it would be fun to gank me. I got back to my corpse to find said mage being mauled by several level 70's. They sent me a whisper and told me to do what I needed to do while they take care of this guy for ganking a lowbie. I told them thanks and asked them not to grief him too much as I was only here for the flight path and was headded out. After another round of thanks and good lucks I took off out of there and unloaded my bags at the AH.

I went fromt there to Ashenvale to clear a few quests and Stonetalon for a few more and hooked up with a Rogue who I stayed grouped with for a while we completed "The Den" quest line and several of the "Blackfathom Deeps" quests. Yea I finally joined a PUG. We did well only 1 wipe due to one of the mages getting over zelous and lighting all the torches. We regrouped and slaughtered everything there. Just off that series of 4 quests I received almost 7K exp and level 30 in the progress. Thats not counting the 1/4 bar of EXP I got while in the dungon.

Once again leaving Ashenvale I went to Thunder Bluff and cleared inventory and bags at the vendor and AH. After getting all that situated I take off for Ogerimar and get on the Dirgibal for Undercity. I forgot to get the Spelucher flight path previously and I forgot once again. But I made it to Hillsbrad Foothills. Upon getting there I almost immideatly get in the line of sight of a 31 Human Paladin. He tried to get to me but I kept him snared and stunned while my pet ate him and I dotted and blasted him into oblivion.

Being in a hottly and contested zone like Hillsbrad has its own interesting dynamics. I see several high level Horde there. Generally they are just bouncing around not really doing anything. Some are collecting things for tradeskills but they are not harrassing the lower level alliance players too much. They will come to your aid if they see you in trouble but I found out that a few of them stop in to make sure we are not being plauged by high level Alliance players thinking to come here and grief us. One an Orc Hunter told everyone in general chat that if a ?? character comes and ganks us to send a message to general and he would come even the playing field for us.

Warrior vs Hunter

So as I said in my previous post. I was cruising around in Thousand Needles on my Troll Hunter. Who is on the PvP server. I am near the Alliance Outpost at the west end of the zone about to complete the Robot Control quest. I see a Warrior NE level 31. Hes full health and in the walking path. I once again target him to see if hes about to engage. His ToT is clear nothing getting ready to pull. I send in my pet ahead of the mark. I don't want to let him know I am there. Pet gets close I mark and open with Scorpion Sting to start drawing his HP down. After that I just unload using everything I have to keep him at distance and drop him. I hang around cause there are a few things to mine in the area and I need the skill up's from it so I can go learn Gold Smelting (which I finally got to 155 and am able to mine and smelt gold finally. Now for 165 Steel Smelting 175 and Mithril Smelting & Mining.) Anyways I ramble and go all over the place. Back to that Warrior. I like a idiot don't see the fill flask icon on my pet action bar while controling the robot (Yes I dismissed the pet so I could do it but didn't look down and see it while controling it) start to leave there and go to the Windreach outpost to see if I did something wrong. I leave the bluff and start running and low and behold here comes the Night Elf again. I once again send off the pet and snare him with a shot and try to get ahead of him so I can mow him down again. I was off my game and he caught up with me so I get down right ugly with him snaring and using Immolation trap while doing everything I can in meele range to kill him. I have to back out while hes snared to apply first aid to my self while all this is going on. I am back at 600~ or so HP when hes at about 150 and next thing I know hes dead. I vaugly recall a shaman passing me in lion form going this isnt good if hes alliance. But he was a Troll. So we polish off the remains of our Warrior snack and I sent him a whisper thanking him for saving my bacon. We group together and start grinding quests out fairly fast. Over all was a fun encounter.

Note to self: Be more aware of my surroundings when near a Alliance base.

Weekend off

Not many level's made this weekend. Was busy getting people smashed at a out of state party. Got home last night and got a few hours in before crashing. I am still crusing through Thousand Needles. Completing several sets of chain quests (Almost done with them all though). I want to complete all the current quests I have so when I move to the next area I can load up again. Other than BG's I have not set foot in any instance yet.

Fun times

So yesterday was full of level grinding and questing. I spend most all of yesterday in Thousand Needels. Windreach Post was almost under constant attack from 2 Alliance players. Both were level 70. Aside from being a pain in the ass due to trying to complete quests and the NPC's necessary were constantly being killed. Any player was killed if they came near. Several of us caught in the cross fire took a rez and jumped off the cliff to our deaths. Just so would be able to rez and regoup with out being a target. Anyone that flew in got slaughtered also. After a while a few level 70 Horde showed up to have some payback on them for being annoying to us lower level people. For almost 20 minuites the attacks stopped. Only to be started right back up again when the Horde protectors left to go do what they needed to do. I was working out of a smaller outpost to the North West completing a few chain quests while I was in the area. Got a few gear upgrades and have lots of things in my bags to sell on the AH.

I am also at that annoying spot in Mining where the only way to raise your level is to mine Tin and Iron to get to 155 when you are able to start mining gold. Unfortunatly I have to get to 150 first so I can get my next level in Mining, Expert(151-225). But I can not mine Gold till 155.

What to do what to do????

Just joking. I know what to do when being ganked by some one whos level is ??. The question is what should they do? This happend last night. I was on Psychotropic and having just got the last page for the quest I was working on. I was returning to Splintertree Outpost. I had just gotten on the trail and was heading west when I see a level 31 Night Elf Druid comming at me just jumping along evidentally completly oblivious to what was in front of him. I target him to see what hes got on target. Nothing, hes just skipping right along. I figure hes 4 levels above me and we are on a PvP server. Neither of us are in combat or recovering from. Hes fair game. I mark him send in my white lion of a pet and proceed to blast him into next year. I chase him stunning him all the way into Forrest Song. He is trying to kite me around through this Alliance outpost and get me killed from the NPC's there. For some reason they are not beating my arse. I finally get him dead. I pop on cheetah and resume my journey to complete my quest. I am almost to the bridge to the west of there when I get mauled. I do mean litterally mauled. I was attacked my a ?? Level Night Elf Druid in retaliation for killing a 31 Druid that if he was paying attention could have handed me my ass easily. He kills me then emotes to me "NO. Not going to happen." Here I am thinking um it did happen. I got a clean kill, the points for the kill, and the honor for the kill. You my furry friend got nada. Zero. Zilch. And the knowledge that you ganked a toon that could do nothing in retrobution to you. I run back to my corpse and go to the far side in the direction I was headding. Take my rez and run out of there to complete my quest. It will do me no good to presure him or annoy him.

PvP is what it means Player vs. Player if you can't handle it please go to a PvE server so you only get ganked for being a idiot and flagging your self PvP when not in a safe location or outside of a BG or Arena match.

And to the ?? Druid. One day I will be higher in levels if I see you out there not in battle just standing to traveling to some where I will repay you the favor. But I will not bend to your level and tell you that its not going to happen. Cause once again it will happen.

Welcome one and all

Welcome

I am Psychosis, this is my nickname in life I have had it well over 10 years or more. It all gets fuzzy with time and age. This blog is for those that are curious more than anything. About the trials and tribulations of leveling 2 hunters. One Alliance and the other Horde.

My Alliance character is Psychohack. He resides on Baelgun a PvE (Player vs. Enviroment) Server in the MMORPG World of Warcraft. Currently hes level 36. I play with friends on this server and am a casual player at that. I am a Skinning/Leather Worker as my professions. He is the first character I have made on WoW.

My Horde character is Psychotropic. He resides on Ursin a PvP (Player vs. Player) Server also in WoW. He is currently level 27. I also play with friends on this server but my goal here is 70 and Raiding. His professions are Mining/Skinning for profits out of the AH (Auction House).

I have both of their signatures at the top I am thinking about putting all 4 of them up. If you look to the right and under links you will see 2 links to the two different signature generators. I have picket the one with the most information that I do not have to regenerate all the time as the main one to display. I think that I will just keep them up there and not worry about the ones that I have to regenerate all the time as my stats change.
